China has introduced a groundbreaking multiyear business travel visa aimed at strengthening trade and business ties with Southeast Asia.
The new ASEAN visa program permits multiple entries over a five-year period, allowing stays of up to three months per visit.
Covering the 10 ASEAN member countries—Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam—this visa also includes East Timor.
Notably, the visa extends to the primary holder’s spouse and children, promoting combined business and leisure (bleisure) travel.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized that this immigration policy initiative will enhance regional mobility and deepen cooperation between China and Southeast Asia.
Currently, citizens of Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand benefit from reciprocal 30-day visa-free access for business and tourism, complementing this new visa program.
