Finland will begin outsourcing the submission of visa and residence permit applications in Australia to an external application centre operated by VFS Global, with services starting in July.
The new process will take effect on July 10 for residence permit applications and on July 11 for visa applications. The designated application centre is located at:

All applicants must attend the application centre in person to provide biometric data and confirm their identity. Services will be offered by appointment only.
Applicants for residence permits are encouraged to complete their applications online via Enter Finland, although paper applications will also be accepted at the VFS centre. The Finnish Immigration Service will continue to process all residence permit applications.
Visa applications can be submitted through FinlandVisa.fi. The Embassy of Finland in Australia will remain responsible for processing visa applications.
Any previously confirmed appointments for residence permit and visa applications will be honoured as scheduled.
An additional service fee will be charged at the application centre alongside the standard visa or residence permit fees.
To assist applicants, a dedicated website and call centre for the application centre will launch on June 26, 2025.
This move is part of Finland’s ongoing efforts to streamline and improve the accessibility of immigration services abroad.
