Skilled Visa Income Thresholds to Rise 4.6% from 1 July 2025

The Australian Government will increase skilled visa income thresholds by 4.6% from 1 July 2025, aligning with the latest Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings (AWOTE) data. The adjustment, part of reforms outlined in the Migration Strategy, ensures skilled migrant wages keep pace with local workforce earnings and prevents wage undercutting.

Rises from $73,150 to $76,515

Implementation:

Effective date: 1 July 2025

Applies to: New nominations lodged on or after 1 July; existing visa holders unaffected.

Salary requirement: Employers must pay the higher of the updated threshold or the market salary rate.
