U.S. Reaches Cap on Additional H-2B Visas for Early Second Half of FY 2025

by jingji17

WASHINGTON — U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced it has received enough petitions to meet the supplemental cap of 19,000 H-2B visas for returning workers in the early second half of fiscal year (FY) 2025. These visas, allocated under a temporary final rule (FY 2025 TFR), cover employment start dates between April 1 and May 14, 2025.

USCIS confirmed that April 18, 2025, marked the final day to submit petitions for these additional visas. The agency will no longer accept applications under this allocation.

The H-2B program allows U.S. employers to hire temporary nonagricultural workers when domestic labor is unavailable. The supplemental visas were introduced to address seasonal workforce shortages.
