WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump delivered a video message to newly naturalized citizens, welcoming them into America’s “national family” and urging them to take pride in sharing a heritage with the nation’s “most exceptional heroes and patriots,” the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced today.
The video, now part of official naturalization ceremonies across the country, plays as immigrants take the Oath of Allegiance after fulfilling all legal requirements—including adherence to U.S. laws, English proficiency, and a demonstrated commitment to the Constitution. In his address, Trump framed citizenship as a “sacred honor” accompanied by “the highest responsibility.”
“President Trump’s message underscores the significance of U.S. citizenship, and USCIS is proud to incorporate it into our ceremonies,” said USCIS Spokesman Matthew Tragesser. “This privilege is reserved for those who embrace America’s laws, culture, and history.”
