Ottawa, June 11, 2025 — Canada has issued 125 new invitations to apply for permanent residency under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in the latest round of the Express Entry system, according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The draw, conducted on June 10 at 13:57 UTC, was the 350th under the Express Entry system. Candidates invited in this round required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 784. The tie-breaking rule was applied to profiles submitted before September 12, 2024, at 18:12 UTC, meaning candidates who met the cut-off score and submitted their profiles before that timestamp received invitations.
This marks the second PNP-specific draw in June, following a previous round on June 2, in which 277 candidates were invited with a lower CRS threshold of 726. In total, 402 invitations have been issued so far this month under the PNP stream.
The Provincial Nominee Program allows Canadian provinces and territories to nominate individuals who have the skills, education, and work experience needed to contribute to their local economies. Successful candidates are granted Canadian permanent resident (PR) status and may live and work in the nominating province.
To apply through the PNP, candidates must first meet the eligibility criteria of a specific provincial stream. These often include having a job offer in the province, experience in an in-demand occupation, past work or study in the region, or the financial means to start a business. Once nominated, applicants receive an additional 600 points toward their CRS score, significantly boosting their chances of receiving an invitation through Express Entry.
The Express Entry system ranks candidates based on factors such as age, education, work experience, and language proficiency. As of March 25, 2025, IRCC removed CRS points awarded for job offers from all categories except those in Major Group 00 of the National Occupation Classification, which includes senior management roles (200 points), and other eligible skilled positions (50 points). This change affects both current and future candidates in the Express Entry pool.
Permanent residents in Canada are individuals who have immigrated but are not Canadian citizens. Most PRs are citizens of other countries, though some may be stateless. The PR status allows individuals to live, work, and access social benefits across Canada, with the opportunity to apply for citizenship after meeting residency requirements.
Canada’s Express Entry program remains a key immigration pathway for skilled workers under various streams, including the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, and the Provincial Nominee Program.
